This side bet is $1 per hand. Other than the progressive jackpot, this blackjack game plays just like any other multi deck blackjack game. The progressive jackpot is won when a player receives three 7's of the same suit - diamonds. Other combinations trigger payoffs on the side bet too though. For example, a hand with a single 7 in it pays off at 5 to 1. A hand with any two 7's in it pays off at 25 to 1. (If the two 7's are suited, the hand pays off at 50 to 1.) We highly recommend this progressive blackjack game from Microgaming if you're looking to win a big jackpot. It's a lot of fun. One caveat though: progressive blackjack, including Triple Sevens, doesn't offer a good payout percentage in general. Cryptologic Progressive BlackjackAnother example, Cryptologic software, offers a progressive blackjack game which pays out based on how many consecutive aces a player receives. No aces and one ace don't have a payoff, but the side bet has other payoffs besides the big progressive jackpot. Two nonsuited aces in a row pays off at 25 to 1, for example. Two suited aces in a row pays off at 100 to 1. (You can receive multiple aces of the same suit because the Cryptologic progressive blackjack game is played using four decks.) Clearly, the best and rarest blackjack hand made up of aces that you could receive in this game would be four aces all of the same suit. This bet triggers the progressive jackpot, which can sometimes be as high as $50,000 or more. And if the jackpot on this game ever goes over about $203,000, the game actually becomes an advantage play with a positive expectation.
